Overall with the CAS project, I am thankful we are able to produce a final project. The idea, while originally a very basic club with a few projects, eventually had to be changed to meet the standards of the IB. THis changed led for the entire idea of engineering club shift into something that became nearly impossible. The project of soundproofing a room seemed simple at first however, many many obstacles came into the way of its development. Thanks to the engineers that I knew from previous experiences, we were able to call them and discuss what projects to do and what our school community needed to fix. While this development of what ideas to develop helped us, the project of soundproofing we ended up tackling did not prove an easy task. In concept it wasn't that bad, a few foam panels placed on the walls to improve on the audio quality of the room. However, when it came to getting the project done and getting approval for everything, it seemed that things began to fall apart. While we had a difficult time with this, eventually we were able to get back on track.
Engineering club was a very difficult project to handle as, while all of us in the club had a passion for creativity and engineering, we are all high schoolers and only understand a general concept of engineering. We had to develop and learn more about the math behind the engineering so we could develop the project and present it at the end. My feelings towards the club are fairly mixed as, while I enjoyed a majority of my time doing it, unfortunately the things that withheld the club from doing the project seamlessly made for an annoying experience.
